A student project completed by the Colorado Building Workshop, these privies were designed to meet the needs of rapidly rising visitation within an extremely harsh alpine climate in the upper reaches of Rocky Mountain National Park. Steel frameworks were pre-fabricated and flown by helicopter to three locations surrounding Longs Peak, and then assembled by a group of students, NPS volunteers and instructors over the span of 8 days in a back country setting.
